Man vs. Nature

The chilly breeze

The biting freeze

The grilling heat

The dazzling sun’s beat

Trees rustling
Their evergreen leaves, like hands seemingly clapping
On their branches birds comfortably nesting
With sonorous pitches ceaselessly and happily singing
Landing aground for some birdie-hopping

The green frog croaking

The agama rhythmically nodding

The lowly cricket chirping

The firefly brightly glowing
Not too generous with its light; occasionally blinking

Under the yellow sun shinning
Out in the wild; the gazelle gracefully grazing

The cheetah with no knowledge of cheating
Nature’s laws only duly obeying
Subject to its force so compelling
With no option other than yielding
Taking the only available path; softly willing

There! Hungrily and creepily lurking
Every twitch and itch notably watching

Each step yet to be taken perfectly calculating

Every atomic molecule patiently energizing
With such power; endlessly intriguing

Right between the tick and tock
Of Mother Nature’s unbeatable clock

Like a flash of lightning
With the blast of a thunder bolting

For its prey it goes launching

Starting off with the running
The chase perfectly commencing

The pursuit duly continuing
After which comes the catch-up and pouncing

Following thru' with the killing
Every bit of flesh roughly tearing

Each bite tastefully savoring

Before the eyes get a chance at twinkling
Another session of perfect hunting
Moments of delightful feeding
Is brought to an easy ending
Countless nutrients deeply nourishing

Every bout of strength replenishing
The very marrow duly refreshing

At the approaching of the beautiful sunset

Whilst the majority now lay to rest
A neighbor arrives from the west
With 'cuffs; every ray of light to arrest
Infiltrating every molecular atom with its spooky fest
Covering air and space in its pitch black vest
Conquering even the great and lofty Everest
Subduing its peak; oh yes! its very crest

Then rises the owl from its nest
Yet again to face the dark test
Flapping, rising, and soaring with such zest
Distinct digestible affiliations identifying a pet meal, not a pest
Clasping its choice pick from the sleepy rest

Speaking of night-vision better than the best
Duly fulfilling its quest
The sole victor in its conquest

Oh! I forgot to introduce to you

The one with whom you have to do

The one I'm not sure whether to praise or to boo

The one I do not know what unto him really is due

'Cos in this picture, a very prominent figure is he too

He comes in the name of peace
But in his hand; a knife slicing piece by piece

Treasure he was meant to tend without halt or cease

Treasure not his, only given him on an indefinite lease

Instead of an appreciation

Rather than an admiration
Of the vast beautification
Of The One behind the entirety of all creation

All he sees is imperfection

All he sees is need for alteration
Ever booming in his mind; a lousy altercation
A forever ongoing opposition
His mind and intellect rising in objection
To the creator's sense of perfection

In his bid for modification
Lost in an ever evolving ball of evolution
The same ball known as civilization

He finds himself in the chamber of balance and distribution
To the locks; he has not the key combination
For the “ne’er-seen-before” machines; He knows nothing of their modes of operation

Accidentally pushing the button for "self-destruction"
Which he mistook for the ignition

He brings the much dreaded slow and steady ruination
Of every continent and nation
Into perfect initiation

Specific species facing extinction

A small minority faced with extermination

The larger majority falling into the pit of gradual eradication

Every living thing breathing in an air of massive decimation
Even his structures are brought down in brick by brick demolition

The Antarctic giving way to depredation

The arctic ice plunging into liquidation

The world now at the verge of extirpation

The universe facing a possible annihilation

All because of the one
I introduced to you earlier on

The one meant to tend
Every wear and tear to mend

Me, myself; even I

MAN!

Borne, one of two possible genders
Whichever, altogether meant to be a builder

Not a horrible destroyer

MAN; the sole author of greenhouse effect, global warming, climate change
