Linesmen checking their lines
Neither poetics nor yard vines
Yarded however, far better than mines
Assistants shan’t assist ants
Neither shall they oblige corrupt grants
They’re just assistants
Whistle blown
Whistle-blower off to a running spree
The one they call Mister Referee
*Game plays right through to ninety minutes…plus a lil’
extra*
Whistle-blower halted
The boys are exhausted
“Green-White-Green”; says the flag of victory tonight
No effort is wasted
****
Hey, Look!
Those NFF buffoons have eloped
Wait a minute!
Where is Keshi’s money?

Thank you Ayoola.
DeleteThe NFF (formerly NFA) has a history of a bad culture of withholding wages of coaches of our national football team(s). I had no choice but to drop a few lines on this one 'cos Keshi is a personality I have come to respect on the scene of sports in Nigeria. He has proven himself golden multiple times and on different levels. He very well has earned his wages and reputation and deserves timely remuneration.
This poem was me speaking up (in my own way - poetry) for just and timely remuneration to be served a man undoubtedly worthy of his wages...
d money is jst behind the goalpost
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I couldn't help but spurt a laugh at that comment.
DeleteNice one Amos...
